Export realisation deadline calculator
Under FEMA, the money for an export has to reach India within a set period of the date of export. RBI has changed that period several times since 2025, and the one that applies depends on when your goods shipped. Enter the Shipping Bill date to see the deadline and how many days are left.

A planning aid — confirm the date with your AD bank before you rely on it.
Enter the date of export to see the deadline.
Track this on every shipment
ExportEazy works out this date for every unpaid invoice from its Shipping Bill, and puts it on your dashboard from 60 days before — with what is still to come from the buyer.
Which period applies to your export
The period is fixed by the date the goods were exported. These are the periods, with the rule each comes from:
| Exported | Period | Rule | Confirmed by a CA? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Up to 31 Jul 2020 | 15 months | RBI A.P. (DIR Series) Circular No. 27, 1 April 2020 (RBI/2019-20/206) | Not yet |
| 1 Aug 2020 – 13 Nov 2025 | 9 months | FEMA (Export of Goods & Services) Regulations 2015 (FEMA 23(R)/2015-RB), Reg. 9(1) | Not yet |
| 14 Nov 2025 – 4 Jun 2026 | 15 months | FEMA 23(R)/(7)/2025-RB, 13 Nov 2025 (Second Amendment 2025), Reg. 9 — Gazette 14 Nov 2025 | Not yet |
| 5 Jun 2026 – 30 Sept 2026 | 9 months | FEMA 23(R)/(8)/2026-RB, 5 June 2026 (First Amendment 2026), Reg. 9 | Not yet |
| 1 Oct 2026 onwards | 15 months (18 if in rupees) | FEMA (Export and Import of Goods and Services) Regulations 2026 (FEMA 23(R)/2026-RB, 13 Jan 2026), Reg. 5(1)(a) and first proviso | Not yet |
Goods sent to your own warehouse abroad follow their own rule: before 1 October 2026, 15 months from the date of shipment; from that date, 15 months (18 in rupees) from the date each sale is made out of the warehouse. The calculator handles both.
When the calculator will not give one date
The FEMA (Export and Import of Goods and Services) Regulations 2026 came into force on 1 October 2026 and contain no transitional provision. So an export shipped before that date and still unpaid on it could be read under the period in force when it shipped, or under the new one. Where the two give different dates, the calculator shows both and suggests planning on the earlier. Ask your AD bank which it applies.
The date of the June 2026 change is taken from RBI’s Master Direction, which is marked updated as on 5 June 2026, rather than from the Gazette itself; if the Gazette date differs, that boundary moves.
If the money will be late
Your AD bank can extend the period on request. Ask before the deadline, with the buyer’s reason in writing. After realisation, your bank reports it and the eBRC follows — see the eBRC and IRM guide.
